im looking at the Yamaha 5.1 Channel Home Theatre System (YHT292B) for best buy. any good? also i am confused on how to set it up. for the best quality, what should the receiver connect to? i have a PS3 and a bell HDPVR to set up to my toshiba 1080P tv. i want surround sound hooked up to both. i was thinking/told, to hook up the hdmi from the PS3 to the TV, then digital optical out from PS3 to the reciever. what about the HDPVR? how do i hook up it? can i just use one cable from the tv to the receiver?
THANKS!

As for the set up. You can do what I did. I plugged the PS3 into one input on the TV and my DVR to another input on my TV then used the digital audio out on the TV to go to the Stereo.
Onkyo HT-S5200 7.1-Channel Home Entertainment Receiver/Speaker Package is a great set for your budget.

Way better than that Yamaha system.
If you have a PS3 there is no reason to buy a surround sound setup that doesn’t have HDMI switching/repeating. Most cheaper receivers and HTIBs require you to send your audio and video via separate cables. Spend a bit more and buy a system that allows you to send both audio and video via one HDMI cable to the receiver and then the video on to the TV via HDMI from the receiver. The least expensive receiver I know of that does this is the Onkyo TX-SR507 ($350). You can get a good 5.1 speaker set (Klipsch HD300, Polk RM6750) for under $250.
