Buying a Reasonably Priced Home Theater System in a Box.?

I plan on purchasing a Home Theater System in a Box for our 42′ Panasonic TV. My requirements are:
1) Reasonably Priced ($300 limit)
2)AM/FM Tuner
3)I-Pod Hookup
4)HD Compatiable
Are there some systems that work beeter with certain TVs? What is the best one for the best price?
Are there specific questions I should ask when purchasing this system?

I am looking for four home theater chairs in leather for under $1500. So far, I have only ran across Coasters and Berklines. Know of any other manufacturers/retailers?
