Anywhere below $1500 is good for price range, 7.1 sound quality would be great. This would be for a 61” samsung 1080p tv, so i want 1080p quality. The HDMI inputs are for a blu-ray player and cable box.
7.1 is not sound quality is just 7 speakers and a subwoofer. I wouldn’t recommend wireless speakers because they cause interference and will not give you the best quality. For $1,500 you can buy a good receiver able to decode lossles sound (example: onkyo 607), good floorstanding and bookshelf speakers (example: polk audio monitor series, energy, klipsch)
To get the most information possibe and tips visit the forums of http://www.blu-ray.com
I would suggest Klipsch Quintet SL Home Theater System

and Denon AVR-789 630-Watt 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver

You can get a very good setup for $1,500. Here’s what I recommend:
Receiver – $400-$500 – The Denon 1909, Yamaha 663, Onkyo TX-SR606, Onkyo TX-SR607 and Onkyo HT-RC160 are all 7.1 or 7.2 capable, HDMI switching and HD audio decoding receivers.
Speakers – Lots of choices here. For value, I recommend the following:
Fronts – Polk Audio Monitor 60 – $230/pair at Newegg.com with promo code EMCLVMT27 (black only).
Rears – Polk Audio Monitor 30 – $100/pair at Newegg.com
Center – Polk Audio CS1 – $80 at Newegg.com
Sub – Polk PSW100 – $250 at Newegg.com
Cables – HDMI cables, speaker wire and banana plugs – ~$70 at Monoprice.com.
Wireless solution – I use the Rocketfish wireless rear speaker kit. I have not experienced any signal loss, delay or interference of any kind. It’s a Best Buy product that sells for around $105. It’s not truly wireless though. It has a powered transmitter that hooks up to the receiver and a powered (meaning AC plug-in) receiver that the speakers must be connected to. So it’s not completely wireless, but it does prevent the need to run speaker wires to the back of your room.
