LG TV and Pyramat Gaming Chair Audio Sync Problem. “Echoing”?

I’ve recently bought an LG LH2000 32″ television for use with my Xbox 360. I also want to connect my gaming chair to this television, but the TV and my gaming chair’s audio is always out of sync, the chair playing audio a fraction of a second before the TV. It is extremely annoying…

My current setup is is this:
Xbox connected to TV via HDMI
Gaming chair connected directly to Xbox via official ‘red+white’ Microsoft audio adaptor (came with Xbox).

I physically cannot plug the gaming chair into the TV via the red and white audio cables as the TV doesn’t support audio out for them. (I’m assuming this would have solved my echo problems)

I don’t want to have to use the TV’s speakers on their own as they are quite poor, and I don’t want to simply turn off the TV’s speakers as it sounds weird to have all the audio coming from behind you. I would like to set it up so that the two speakers on the chair act as rear right and left speakers, and the two speakers on the TV act as front left and right, so I have a surround sound.

Is there a way to do this without getting that hideous echo? At the very least I want all my speakers to be in unison. Or am I just wasting my time and need to buy a proper home theatre system instead?

Thanks

The HDMI port on the Xbox is outputting digital audio, which has to be converted to analog audio by the TV before it can be played. The RCA port is outputting analog audio to the chair, so no digital to analog conversion is needed. This may explain the why the TV has a sound delay, because of the additional sound processing needed. It may also be related to the how the Xbox is outputting audio through two different ports at once.

Your TV has a headphone output. You could get an adapter and then run the TV’s headphone audio to the chair and see if that prevents the echo effect: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=3.5+mm+to+stereo+rca&hl=en&cid=4143817684018793328&ei=myLqS8XFEJTewQXzrujFBA&sa=title&ved=0CA0Q8wIwATgA#p . The only problem might be if the TV disables its speakers when a cable is plugged in to the headphone outlet, but you may have a menu option to disable that setting if needed.

Another option would be to connect the Xbox to the TV using a component AV cable instead. Your TV can accept up to 1080p over component, and the quality would be nearly identical to HDMI (any differences in picture quality between the two depends on many factors: http://www.bluejeanscable.com/articles/dvihdmicomponent.htm ).

You would then be able to split the audio from the component cable into two pairs: one pair for the TV, one pair for the chair. You would need two RCA splitters to split the left and right audio outputs into two usable pairs ( http://www.amazon.com/RCA-Female-2-Adapter/dp/B0021O9KCM ) and also RCA cables to connect one pair to the TV and the other pair to the chair.

Since you are using a TV and not a surround system to play back audio, stereo output from the Xbox to the TV is as good as optical or HDMI would be.
