Is there any significant diff. between HDMI version 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3? I’m looking at home theater receivers,

and some have HDMI 1.1 ports, others 1.2 or 1.3

Is there a significant quality difference?

    Quality — no. There are differences between versions, but most of them are irrelevant to most users because either they are not yet functional (e.g. Deep colour support in V1.3 is not yet a reality), or not required by any of their current equipment.

    If you like a receiver and it has HDMI 1.3 go ahead and buy it (it is more “Future Proof”), but don’t spend extra or reject an HDMI 1.2 model you like to get it.

    See the link for the differences between the various versions — as you can see most are minor or not yet relevant.

    Nope..not a huge difference. 1.3 cables can be bought for less than $6 though. You might as well make the leap and upgrade.
